We were thrilled to see this lovely review of the Love Your Bump BellyBelt by Fertile Mind on the Stylish Bump blog and wanted to share it with you all.
When you find a product you love you tend to tell all your friends about it. But when you find a product that you not only love, but changes your life, then you tell EVERYONE about it!
That’s pretty much the case with these two products I discovered during my first pregnancy, and subsequently used for all three pregnancies, both from Fertile Mind. Fertile Mind is an Australian company that sells maternity wear, nursing bras and clothes, shape wear, lingerie, baby carriers, the fantastic Milkbar Lifestyle pillow and invented the BellyBelt.
Some women are lucky enough to go through their entire pregnancy wearing their regular wardrobe, others need to buy maternity wear in their first few weeks! I was somewhere in between, and know just how frustrating it can be trying to find stylish maternity wear.
As I love wearing jeans I was THRILLED to discover the BellyBelt in my first pregnancy. A small piece of elastic that fits over the button and through the hole, it turns your regular jeans, pants and skirts into maternity wear, meaning you can wear your own clothes for much longer during your pregnancy.
As your bump grows, the BellyBelt stretches, or you just size up to the next length. Then you just cover it up with long tops or tunics. Easy!
You can wear it alone, or use it with the BellyBelt fabric panels over the top to cover your lower belly skin from showing. The BellyBelt kit also has slide belts to extend your working wardrobe of trousers and skirts.
For a small product it’s very effective, and can save you a lot of money on maternity clothes too. BellyBelt works with skirts, pants, jeans and shorts that fasten with buttons and button holes or slide or clasp fasteners on the waistband.
It’s so simple, but so brilliant. (It could only have been invented by a pregnant woman – a clever mama of four no less!)
I used my BellyBelt during all three of my pregnancies with a denim skirt I loved with the smaller belt, and my favourite boyfriend jeans with the larger belt. Thanks to these genius little elastic belts I wore my jeans right up until I was 39 weeks pregnant.
Obviously everyone’s bump is different – indeed every pregnancy is different – and it will depend on how your pregnancy goes and what’s already in your wardrobe.
Stretchy or slightly larger clothes (to accommodate a growing bottom and legs) maximise the wear you’ll get from your BellyBelt. My boyfriend jeans were already slouchy and larger than my skinny jeans which meant I used the BellyBelt to fasten them up and wore them right throughout my pregnancy.
Each BellyBelt Kit contains all the different size belts, slide belts and fabric panels in three colours, white, black and denim that you’ll need.
