About Us

Cheeky Rascals supplies mums and dads with brilliant nursery products from across the globe. We bring these products back to the UK for you to buy online, or on the high street, through our network of retailers.

As a new mum working and living in France, Selina found lots of innovative parenting products that were unavailable in the UK. Her friends clearly agreed! With each trip back home, she found herself sourcing various bits and pieces for her fellow new mums. Turning this in to a business seemed an obvious next step. Soon enough, armed with a few leaflets, a van full of products and a gut full of ambition, Cheeky Rascals was born.

The founding principle of the business has always been to find genuinely useful baby kit that makes family life easier and this hasn’t changed.  Having started at the kitchen table and moved to the shed, the Cheeky Rascals team is now in The Mill in the Hampshire countryside.  Selina is a well-known, respected member of the nursery industry and sits on the board of the Baby Products Association (BPA), the voice of the baby and nursery products industry in the UK.

Our charity work

The team loves a fundraiser! From Charity Bake Offs to sponsored bike rides, we have regular money raising events in the office.

On a larger scale, Selina has worked with a village in Uganda. Our most recent investment has bought a water tank that has made clean water easily accessible to a population of 600. Previously, water had to be carried 600 metres every day by the women and children of the village.

Never one to miss a good opportunity, Selina contacted many other nursery and baby goods brands in the UK for donations of baby kit (very good use of a generous luggage allowance!). We had an amazing, very generous response from our colleagues and partners, and took suitcases full of baby kit that helped families and local charities.

June 2016 saw 20 years of Cheeky Rascals and to mark this milestone the team wanted to give something back to the community and were delighted to be able to work with local charity Naomi House. Naomi House and Jacksplace hospices (near Winchester) care for life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families. They provide support in communities across the seven counties of central southern England (https://www.naomihouse.org.uk).

Selina and Simon are keen cyclists and are always thinking of ways to support others. While in France they completed a charity bike ride.

The ride is called Le Loop https://rideleloop.org/ and the general idea is that you ride somewhere between 3 and 18 days of the Tour De France bike ride. No one day is easy but doing all 18 is very hard ! The charity that organises Le Loop is the William Wates Memorial Trust, and it is their main fund raiser for the year. The ride finished today and has raised over £500,000 which is their best ever total.

WWMT supports a range of charities in London and the Southeast that encourage young people experiencing severe disadvantage to keep away from anti-social behaviour and criminal activity, enabling them to fulfil their potential. They select the charities and administer the funds themselves, meaning that almost all the funds raised go to the charities.

Two examples of particularly inspiring charities that WWMT support.

Power 2 Teens and Toddlers helps secondary school pupils who are struggling with school for one reason or another. They are asked to mentor toddlers at Nursery to help them learn. This has a brilliant effect on the self esteem and confidence of the older pupil and their school performance improves dramatically. https://www.power2.org/teensandtoddlers

Community Cycleworks encourage youngsters to get into cycling by providing bikes and tuition in cyling and maintenance. This helps in different ways to get non cycling kids to realise the health benefits of cycling. On the ride I met a young Muslim girl who had gone through their programme. The challenge she had was that her family was totally against her riding bikes with anyone, especially strangers. Community Cycleworks have an all-girls group which managed to persuade her family that her going cycling was not a big issue and she progressed through BMX and track riding and has become a really good cyclist who was able to ride a day of the Tour de France. https://www.communitycycleworks.co.uk/

We also worked with these charities over the year:

Little Village supports families with babies and children under five living in poverty across London. Since they launched in 2016, Little Village has supported more than 24,000 children under 5. We have helped them several times with donations of items like carriers, pushchairs and swaddles.

Barnardo’s we are able to help with used swaddles and carriers.
