How do I know if my child is ready?
Watch for signs that your child is aware they need to go
Your child has stayed dry for a couple of hours
Your child lets you know that their nappy is soiled
Do's:
We all know children can be quite possessive about their own toys! Encouraging them to use carry My Carry Potty everywhere will make the whole potty training process a lot easier.
Choose a time which is best for you and your child. Warmer weather is good as they can spend time out in the garden.
Take your toddler with you to the shops to choose their own potty. This will help make it a more fun and involved occasion. They will adopt it as their own personal possession which will help them want to use it.
Let your child choose the room where they would like to keep potty so they are aware of its place. You can also put it in the room they spend most of their time in.
Always take the potty everywhere with you so your child feels secure knowing it is there for them to use.
Be patient with children as potty training is a big milestone in both a parent's and child's life and will take time.
Praise your child when they use the potty and make them feel special, perhaps with a reward.
Sit your child at regular intervals on My Carry Potty and continue to remind them it's theirs and why.
Teach your child to always wash their hands after use.

Don'ts:
Don't force a child to use a potty.
Don't get cross with them for refusing to sit on a potty.
Don't get impatient with them if they have an accident.
Don't let your child close the lid by themself.
